How can I tell what size injectors I have?

To determine the size of your fuel injectors, you'll need to look at the specifications of your vehicle or engine. The size of the fuel injectors is typically measured in cubic centimeters per minute (cc/min) or pounds per hour (lb/hr). This information can be found in your vehicle's owner's manual, on the engine's data plate, or by consulting with a professional mechanic.

Identifying Fuel Injector Size

Here are the steps to determine the size of your fuel injectors:

  • Check the owner's manual: The owner's manual for your vehicle should list the fuel injector size, either in cc/min or lb/hr.

  • Inspect the engine data plate: Many engines have a data plate that lists the engine specifications, including the fuel injector size.

  • Consult a mechanic: If you can't find the information in the owner's manual or on the engine, a professional mechanic can help you identify the fuel injector size.

  • Look for the injector size printed on the injector: Some fuel injectors have the size printed directly on the injector body.

Once you know the fuel injector size, you can use this information to select the appropriate replacement injectors or to make modifications to your engine's fuel system.

Understanding Fuel Injector Sizes

Fuel injector sizes typically range from around 12 cc/min to 2,000 cc/min or 1 lb/hr to 100 lb/hr. The size of the injectors is determined by the engine's displacement, the desired fuel flow rate, and other factors. Larger engines with higher power output generally require larger fuel injectors to deliver the necessary fuel.

Knowing the fuel injector size is important for maintaining your vehicle's performance and ensuring that the engine is receiving the correct amount of fuel. Replacing fuel injectors with the wrong size can lead to issues such as poor fuel economy, reduced power, and even engine damage.

How do I check what injectors I have?

All injectors have a part number stamped on the side, look at the number and type it in our search box to find it.

How do I know my injectors size?

Fuel Injectors are sized by their flow rate. Flow rate is a measurement of how much fuel can be delivered over time. It is listed in pounds per hour (lbs./hr.) or cubic centimeters per minute (cc/min.). The right size injector can supply enough fuel under full load conditions at an 80% duty cycle.

How do I tell what cc my injectors are?

you need to make a rig to apply +12V across the pins on the injector, and also have a fuel feed with pressure. once you apply the 12V, you measure how much fuel comes out in 1 minute. the volume that comes out of the injector cc's is the cc/min of the injector @ the psi of the fuel pressure.

Are fuel injectors numbered?

Fuel injectors are numbered to correspond with the number assigned to the cylinder that they serve. The manufacturer determines the numbering of the cylinders.

How do I find my injector code?

It is more common, though, for the trim code to come physically stamped on the injector itself. This makes it easier to read for the installer. For a lot of injectors, this stamping is done on the solenoid.

Where is injector number?

And the handheld. So if you were to throw a fault. One you would go to injector. Number one which I have here. And that will be our injector.

Where is the serial number on an injector?

The unique, 4-7 digit serial number can be found at the base of the connector, on the body of the injector. Due to the likelihood that if one injector has a problem, the rest in the set won't be perfect, we can only guarantee our work if we test all of the injectors in your set.

How do you measure fuel injectors?

With your vehicle off, disconnect the electrical connector for your fuel injector. Use a multimeter to take a resistance reading. Check your vehicle's service manual or online to learn the correct value (most fuel injectors should read between 10 and 18 ohms). Reconnect your injector and check the next one.

What do numbers on injectors mean?

The 2-digit groupings are actually telling the ECU how many microseconds the ECU needs to add or subtract to this injector in order to make the target fuel quantity. So a 00 code means nothing added or subtracted. A 0b code means adding 11uS, a 22 code means adding 35uS, a F0 code would be subtracting 16 microseconds….

How do I know my injector index?

Use a borescope or small mirror to inspect the index numbers while the injectors are in place. Do not remove the injectors to inspect the index numbers. Any injector that is index 10 or lower must be replaced.
