How to put durango in sport mode?

To put your Dodge Durango in sport mode, simply press the "Sport" button located on the center console of your vehicle. This will activate the sport mode, which enhances the driving dynamics and performance of your Durango.

What is Sport Mode?

Sport mode is a driving mode available on many modern vehicles, including the Dodge Durango. When activated, sport mode alters various vehicle systems to provide a more responsive and engaging driving experience. This typically includes:

  • Faster throttle response: The engine will respond more quickly to accelerator inputs, providing a more immediate and powerful acceleration feel.

  • Tighter steering: The steering will become more precise and responsive, allowing for better control and handling of the vehicle.

  • Firmer suspension: The suspension will be tuned to be more rigid, reducing body roll and providing a sportier, more connected driving feel.

  • Faster gear shifts: Automatic transmissions will shift gears more quickly, keeping the engine in its optimal power band.

By engaging sport mode, you can enjoy a more dynamic and thrilling driving experience in your Dodge Durango.

How to Activate Sport Mode in the Durango

Putting your Dodge Durango in sport mode is a simple process:

  1. Locate the "Sport" button on the center console of your vehicle. This is typically a button or switch labeled "Sport" or with a sport mode icon.

  2. Press the "Sport" button to activate the sport mode. You may notice the instrument cluster display change to indicate that sport mode is now engaged.

  3. To deactivate sport mode, simply press the "Sport" button again, and your Durango will return to its normal driving mode.

It's important to note that sport mode is designed for spirited driving and may result in decreased fuel efficiency. Therefore, it's recommended to use sport mode primarily when you want to enjoy a more dynamic driving experience, such as on winding roads or when you need to make a quick maneuver.

What is the sport mode button on the Durango?

By selecting SPORT Mode, you are placing extra strain on your engine. As a result, your Durango consumes more gasoline in this mode. That being stated, SPORT Mode should only be utilized in extreme conditions and not for regular driving.

How to shift into sport mode?

To turn on sport mode, locate the drive mode selector, which is usually a button, dial, or switch on the center console or steering wheel. The method varies by car, but you will typically press a "Sport" button or move a gear shifter to the "S" position. Some cars activate sport mode by quickly double-pressing the traction control button or by moving the gear shifter to the left.

  • Press a dedicated "Sport" button: Many vehicles have a button labeled "Sport" or a symbol for it. This might be on the center console, dashboard, or gear shifter.
  • Move the gear shifter: Some automatic transmissions allow you to activate sport mode by moving the gear shifter to the "S" position. On some models, shifting the lever to the left engages sport mode for the transmission.
  • Use a drive mode dial or switch: Find a dial or switch, often near the gear selector, that allows you to cycle through different driving modes. Rotate or push it to select "Sport".
  • Use the infotainment system: On some modern vehicles, you may need to navigate to the "Drive Mode" or "Settings" menu on the central touchscreen to select sport mode.
  • Quickly double-press a button: Some vehicles, like certain Ford models, activate a sport mode by quickly double-pressing the traction control button.
  • Activate via paddle shifters or a button on the shifter: In some cars, holding down a downshift paddle or a button on the shifter can manually drop the transmission into a lower, more aggressive gear, which is a quick way to prepare for a pass or a turn.
  • Find the button on the steering wheel: Some models may have the sport mode button or a customizable button on the steering wheel itself.

Does the 2015 Durango RT have sport mode?

To activate sport mode on the 2015 you will need to get rid of the suitcase mufflers and exhaust mufflers. I purchased my RT with a suitcase delete straight pipes. Cold start was nice but wide open throttle sounded like a fart can.
