Common issues reported with the Neon SXT include problems with the electrical system, engine, and transmission. Owners have also reported issues with the car's suspension and brakes in some cases.

Factors Affecting Reliability

Several factors can impact the reliability of the Dodge Neon SXT, including:

  • Model Year: As mentioned, earlier model years tend to have better reliability ratings than later versions.

  • Maintenance and Care: Like any vehicle, proper maintenance and care can significantly impact the Neon SXT's reliability and longevity.

  • Usage and Driving Conditions: Cars used for heavy-duty tasks or driven in harsh conditions may experience more reliability issues.

  • Individual Vehicle History: The reliability of a specific Neon SXT can vary based on its previous ownership, accident history, and maintenance record.

Overall, the Dodge Neon SXT can be a reliable compact car, but its reliability record has been mixed. Prospective buyers should research specific model years and consider the vehicle's history and maintenance when evaluating the Neon SXT's reliability.
