Is Toyota Sienna a 9 seater?

The short answer: No—the Sienna does not offer a 9-seat configuration. In its current generation, the minivan seats seven or eight passengers depending on the interior setup.

Seating configurations

Before listing the configurations, here's how seating can be arranged in the Sienna:

  • 7-seat configuration: front row (2) + second row captain's chairs (2) + third row bench (3) = 7 seats.

  • 8-seat configuration: front row (2) + second row bench (3) + third row bench (3) = 8 seats.

These two layouts cover the typical buyer options. The choice affects how easily passengers access the third row and how much cargo space remains behind the third row in each setup.

Captain's chairs vs bench seating

The second row in the Sienna can be configured as two captain's chairs or as a three-person bench. Opting for captain's chairs yields seven total seats; choosing a bench increases capacity to eight but changes access to the third row.

No 9-seat option

The current Toyota Sienna lineup does not include a nine-passenger variant. For North America models through at least the 2024–2025 model years, the maximum seating is eight. If a source claims a nine-seat Sienna, it is either outdated, market-specific, or inaccurate.

Summary

Bottom line: The Toyota Sienna is not a 9-seater. It offers seven or eight seats depending on whether the second row uses captain's chairs or a three-passenger bench. For nine occupants, buyers would need a larger vehicle or two vehicles.
