NHRA's violation letter "ban" states that the SRT Demon 170 cannot run sub-nine-second quarter miles without a safety cage and parachute. That's right, this Dodge Challenger can hit the end of a drag strip in 8.91 seconds at 151 miles per hour! 0-60mph comes in only 1.66 seconds.



Can a Demon beat a Hellcat?


Both the Hellcat and the Demon get moving insanely fast, but the Demon takes the cake once again. The Hellcat moves from 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds, which is pretty impressive already. Meanwhile, the Demon shaves off almost two full seconds, reaching 60 mph in 1.66 seconds.

Why is Dodge Demon banned?

The Demon was not equipped with one from the factory. Initially, it seemed like the dark spirits responsible for the Demon were not concerned about safety. An NHRA ban looked like a bad thing for Dodge. After all, the car was purpose-built to drag race, but Mopar fans took that news in stride.
