Where is the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV built?

The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is built at General Motors' Ramos Arizpe Manufacturing Complex in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. This state-of-the-art facility has been producing the Blazer SUV since 2018 and was selected to handle production of the all-electric Blazer EV variant as well.

Ramos Arizpe Manufacturing Complex

The Ramos Arizpe Manufacturing Complex is a large automotive assembly plant operated by General Motors in the city of Ramos Arizpe, in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila. The plant first opened in 1981 and has since undergone several expansions and upgrades to keep pace with GM's evolving vehicle lineup.

In addition to the Chevy Blazer, the Ramos Arizpe facility also produces the Chevy Equinox SUV and the Chevy Silverado pickup truck. The plant's strategic location near the U.S. border and access to a skilled workforce have made it an important part of GM's North American manufacturing footprint.

Blazer EV Production

General Motors announced in 2022 that the Ramos Arizpe plant would be the exclusive production site for the all-new Chevy Blazer EV. This battery-electric variant of the popular Blazer SUV is a key part of GM's push to electrify its lineup and meet growing consumer demand for zero-emission vehicles.

  • The Blazer EV will be offered in a range of trim levels and configurations, including a high-performance SS model.

  • Production of the Blazer EV is scheduled to begin in late 2023, with the first customer deliveries expected in early 2024.

  • The Ramos Arizpe plant has been outfitted with new equipment and processes to handle the specialized production requirements of the electric Blazer.

By locating Blazer EV production at the existing Ramos Arizpe facility, GM is able to leverage its existing workforce and infrastructure to efficiently bring this new electric model to market. The plant's proximity to the U.S. also helps ensure timely delivery of the Blazer EV to customers across North America.
