Do Ford Maverick come in 4 wheel drive?

Yes, the Ford Maverick compact pickup truck is available with an optional 4-wheel drive (4WD) system. The Maverick offers both front-wheel drive (FWD) and 4WD configurations to meet the needs of different customers.

Maverick 4WD Availability and Features

The Ford Maverick is offered with an available 4WD system on all trim levels, including the base XL, mid-level XLT, and top-of-the-line Lariat. The 4WD system is paired with Ford's 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which produces 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

The Maverick's 4WD system features an electronically-controlled on-demand transfer case that allows the driver to switch between 2WD and 4WD High modes on the fly. There is also a 4WD Low mode for more challenging off-road conditions.

Benefits of the Maverick 4WD

  • Improved traction and capability in snow, mud, and other low-traction conditions

  • Enhanced off-road performance for light-duty adventuring

  • Increased payload and towing capacity compared to the standard FWD model

  • Available on all Maverick trim levels for greater flexibility

The Ford Maverick 4WD system provides a balance of on-road efficiency and off-road capability, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of driving needs and conditions.

Does the 2024 Ford Maverick hybrid come in AWD?

Ford has changed a few things about the Maverick for the 2024 model year. The biggest change is that the hybrid drivetrain is now a $1,500 option, with the base model coming standard with the turbocharged four-cylinder and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is still an available option.

Are Ford Mavericks good in snow?

Mavericks do fine in the snow. I'm in the same area as you (eastern MA), and my hybrid Maverick handled the one big snowstorm we had this year like a champ with snow tires on the front. I actually found turning off traction control helped in deep snow by letting the tires spin a bit.

Can you get a Ford Maverick in 4 wheel drive?

Available All-Wheel Drive
Do you love to take the road less traveled from time to time? The Ford Maverick can be equipped to handle rough roads and light trails with available all-wheel drive. Tampa-area drivers who want a Ford Maverick with AWD must opt for the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine.

When can I order the 2025 Maverick hybrid AWD?

The new Maverick and Maverick Hybrid are available to order starting Aug. 1, with deliveries expected to begin in late 2024.
