How do I turn on and off cruise control?

Cruise control is a convenient feature in many modern vehicles that allows you to maintain a constant speed without continuously pressing the accelerator pedal. To turn on and off cruise control, follow these simple steps.

Turning On Cruise Control

  • Locate the cruise control buttons or switches on your steering wheel or dashboard. These are typically labeled with symbols like "CRUISE" or have a picture of a speedometer.

  • Press the "ON" or "SET" button to activate the cruise control system.

  • Accelerate your vehicle to the desired speed, then release the accelerator pedal. The vehicle will now maintain that speed automatically.

Once cruise control is engaged, you can adjust the set speed by pressing the "RES" (resume) or "COAST" buttons to increase or decrease the speed, respectively.

Turning Off Cruise Control

  • To disengage cruise control, press the "CANCEL" button or tap the brake pedal. This will deactivate the cruise control system, but the set speed will be retained in memory.

  • To completely turn off cruise control, press the "OFF" button or switch. This will clear the set speed from memory.

It's important to note that cruise control should only be used on open roads with consistent traffic conditions. It's not recommended to use cruise control in heavy traffic, on winding roads, or in adverse weather conditions, as it may not be able to respond quickly enough to changes in the driving environment.
