What chassis is the Chevy SS on?

The Chevy SS is a high-performance sedan that was produced by General Motors from 2013 to 2017. The Chevy SS was built on a specific chassis that gave it its unique driving characteristics and performance capabilities.

The Zeta Platform

The Chevy SS was built on GM's Zeta platform, which was a rear-wheel-drive automobile platform developed by Holden, GM's Australian subsidiary. The Zeta platform was used for several high-performance vehicles, including the Chevrolet Camaro and the Holden Commodore, the latter of which the Chevy SS was based on.

The Zeta platform was designed to provide a balance of performance, handling, and comfort. It featured a robust rear-wheel-drive architecture, independent suspension, and a range of powerful engine options. This allowed the Chevy SS to deliver an engaging driving experience while still providing a comfortable and practical daily driver.

Key Features of the Zeta Platform

  • Rear-wheel-drive layout for improved handling and performance

  • Independent suspension for a smooth and responsive ride

  • Robust chassis and body structure for enhanced safety and rigidity

  • Flexible engine options, including high-performance V8 engines

  • Spacious interior and trunk for practical everyday use

The Zeta platform's combination of performance, handling, and practicality made it an ideal choice for the Chevy SS, allowing the sedan to deliver an exciting driving experience while still being a comfortable and usable daily driver.
