What engine is in a Freelander 2 used?

The Land Rover Freelander 2 is a compact SUV that was produced from 2006 to 2014. The Freelander 2 was powered by a variety of engine options, depending on the model year and market. The most common engine found in the Freelander 2 was a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine.


Engine Specifications


The 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine in the Freelander 2 was developed by Ford and was part of their Duratorq engine family. This engine was available in two power outputs:

The 2.2-liter diesel engine in the Freelander 2 provided good fuel economy, with an average of around 35 miles per gallon (6.7 liters per 100 km) in combined city and highway driving. In terms of performance, the 150 horsepower version could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in around 10 seconds, while the 160 horsepower version could do it in around 9 seconds.
