What group does Dodge belong to?

Dodge is an American automobile brand that is currently owned by the Stellantis automotive group. Stellantis was formed in 2021 through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and the Peugeot S.A. (PSA) Group, creating one of the world's largest automakers.

Dodge's History and Ownership

Dodge was founded in 1900 by brothers Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis Dodge in Detroit, Michigan. The company initially produced parts and components for other automakers before launching its first passenger car in 1914. Over the decades, Dodge became known for its line of trucks, muscle cars, and family-oriented vehicles.

In 1928, Dodge was acquired by Chrysler Corporation, which would go on to become one of the "Big Three" American automakers, along with Ford and General Motors. Chrysler owned the Dodge brand for over 80 years until 2014, when Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) was formed through the merger of Chrysler and Italian automaker Fiat.

Stellantis and the Dodge Brand

In 2021, FCA merged with the Peugeot S.A. (PSA) Group to create the new Stellantis automotive conglomerate. As a result, Dodge is now part of the Stellantis portfolio of brands, which also includes Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, and others.

Under Stellantis, Dodge continues to produce a range of vehicles, including the Challenger and Charger muscle cars, the Durango SUV, and the Ram pickup truck. The brand is known for its powerful engines, bold styling, and performance-oriented models. Dodge remains an important part of Stellantis's North American operations and product lineup.
