What is a 2021 Equinox LT worth?

The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox LT, a popular compact SUV, typically has a fair market value ranging from around $22,000 to $26,000 for a used model in good condition. The exact value can vary depending on factors such as mileage, condition, and location.

Detailed Overview of the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox LT

The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox LT is the mid-level trim of the Equinox lineup, slotting between the base L model and the higher-end Premier and RS trims. It features a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and a range of standard and available features.

Factors Affecting the Value of a 2021 Equinox LT

The value of a used 2021 Equinox LT can be influenced by several factors:

  • Mileage: Vehicles with lower mileage, typically under 50,000 miles, tend to have higher values.

  • Condition: The overall condition of the vehicle, including the interior, exterior, and mechanical components, plays a significant role in determining the fair market value.

  • Location: Prices can vary depending on the regional market and demand for the vehicle in a particular area.

  • Options and Features: Equinox LT models with additional features, such as all-wheel drive, premium audio systems, or advanced safety technologies, may command higher prices.

  • Dealer vs. Private Party: Vehicles sold through a dealership may have a slightly higher value compared to those sold privately.

It's important to research the current market conditions and compare prices for similar Equinox LT models in your local area to determine a fair and accurate value for a used 2021 Equinox LT.

Does a Chevy Equinox hold its value?

No, a Chevy Equinox does not hold its value particularly well, as it experiences significant depreciation compared to many other SUVs. Factors like its age, mileage, condition, and specific model year all influence its resale value, with some years being less reliable than others.
Factors affecting resale value

  • Depreciation: The Equinox is known to have high depreciation rates, meaning its value decreases quickly over time, say Kelley Blue Book.
  • Model Year and Condition: Newer Equinox models with lower mileage and in good condition hold value better than older or poorly maintained ones.
  • Reliability: Specific model years have lower reliability ratings, which negatively impacts their resale value, such as the 2009-2017 models with the 2.4-liter engine, according to CarGurus.
  • Economic Conditions: Broader economic factors like fuel prices and interest rates can also affect the car market and, in turn, the Equinox's resale value.

How much is a 2021 Equinox LT worth?

The value of a 2021 Chevy Equinox LT varies based on its condition, mileage, and specific features, but its average private party value is approximately $14,000-$17,000, while trade-in values are lower, around $11,000-$13,000. Used prices for the 2021 Equinox LT range from about $14,750 to $19,998 or higher, depending on the listing.
Factors influencing value

  • Condition: Clean and well-maintained vehicles will have a higher value than those with rough condition or damage.
  • Mileage: Lower mileage typically results in a higher price, while higher mileage reduces the value.
  • Drivetrain: An all-wheel drive (AWD) version can have a slightly higher value than a front-wheel drive (FWD) version.
  • Features and options: Trim level, specific options, and package additions (like navigation or a power liftgate) will impact the final price.

Value estimates by source
  • Edmunds: Trade-in value is around $12,158 for a clean model, while a dealer retail value is approximately $14,437.
  • Kelley Blue Book: A clean LT model has a resale value of about $14,755, and a trade-in value of $12,255.
  • CarMax: Instant offers range from $11,000 to $15,400 for recent trades.
  • Autotrader: The average price for a used 2021 Chevrolet Equinox (across all trims) is about $17,734.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox LT a good car?

It's been an absolutely dependable car, great for city and highway driving. Has plenty of room and seats are comfortable. The auto stop/start is indeed smooth, though on the 2018 model there isn't any way to override it so you're stuck with it whether you like it or not. For me it hasn't been an issue.
