What is Dex-cool compatible with?

Dex-Cool is a type of engine coolant that is compatible with a variety of automotive systems. It is designed to provide long-lasting protection against corrosion and overheating in modern vehicles. In this article, we'll explore what Dex-Cool is compatible with and the benefits it offers.

What is Dex-Cool?

Dex-Cool is an extended-life, ethylene glycol-based coolant that was introduced in the mid-1990s as an alternative to traditional green antifreeze. It is formulated with organic acid technology (OAT) to provide improved corrosion protection and longer service life compared to conventional coolants. Dex-Cool is designed to last up to 5 years or 150,000 miles before needing to be replaced.

Dex-Cool Compatibility

Dex-Cool is compatible with a wide range of automotive systems and components, including:

  • Aluminum engine blocks and cylinder heads

  • Copper and brass radiators

  • Rubber and plastic hoses and seals

  • Water pumps and thermostats

  • Gaskets and other cooling system components

Dex-Cool is specifically formulated to be compatible with the materials used in modern engine cooling systems, making it a popular choice for many vehicle manufacturers.

Benefits of Using Dex-Cool

Some of the key benefits of using Dex-Cool include:

  • Improved corrosion protection for cooling system components

  • Longer service life compared to traditional green antifreeze

  • Better heat transfer and cooling efficiency

  • Compatibility with a wide range of automotive materials

  • Reduced maintenance and lower overall cooling system costs

By using Dex-Cool, vehicle owners can help extend the life of their cooling system and avoid costly repairs down the road.

Can you replace dex cool antifreeze with regular antifreeze?

So if you don't want to use dex-cool, the system needs to be drained and thoroughly flushed. Then it should be ok to use regular anti freeze. VW however warns against using anything other than their coolant, saying it can erode gaskets etc. So ultimately stick with what are your recommended fluids.

What phones does DeX work on?

What can mix with Dexcool?

Dexcool is antifreeze. As stated by here, Dex-Cool can be mixed with water or antifreeze. The ratio is typically 50/50, but it can vary depending on the manufacturer's recommendations.

What is Dex compatible with?

DeX is available on Galaxy S9, S10, S20, S21, S22, S23, S24, Note8, Note9, Note10, Note20, Z Fold3, Z Fold4, and Z Fold5 series phones, and Galaxy Tab S4, S5e, S6, S7, S8, S9, S10 and Galaxy Tab Active3 and Tab Active Pro series tablets.

What cars are compatible with Dexcool?

Designed to work with all GM ® vehicles 1995 & newer (GM ®-approved), most Ford ® vehicles 2011-2018 and most Chrysler ® vehicles 2013 & newer. Manages engine temperature, prevents freezing and protects the engine from corrosion. Protects vital engine parts for up to 5 years/150,000 miles with Extended Life Formula.

Is dexcool compatible with other coolants?

It is compatible for use with other extended-life coolants and is free of silicate, borate, phosphate, nitrite, and amines.

Will Samsung DeX work with any monitor?

What displays work with DeX? With a wired connection, DeX can work on just about any monitor or TV with an HDMI port.

What is so special about Dex Cool antifreeze?

It protects from corrosion, scale and rust, so radiators, water pumps and other metal cooling system parts (including aluminum) stay clean and your antifreeze flows and functions properly. Zerex Dex-Cool Antifreeze/Coolant does not contain amines, borates, nitrates or nitrites.

Can I mix distilled water with Dexcool?

The GM premixed Dexcool contains a 50/50 mix with deionized water. DO NOT use tap water or distilled water or concentrations other than 50/50.

What happens if you mix Dex cool with green antifreeze?

As discussed above, green and orange coolants create different chemical compositions, and when they are combined, they form an acidic solution which can lead to corrosion. This corrosion leads to expensive repairs and engine failures.
