Which Lexus models have dynamic radar cruise control?

Lexus, the luxury vehicle division of Toyota, offers several models equipped with dynamic radar cruise control, an advanced driver assistance feature that helps maintain a safe following distance on the road. This technology uses radar sensors to detect the vehicle ahead and automatically adjusts the car's speed to maintain a preset following distance, providing a more comfortable and safer driving experience.

Lexus Models with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

The following Lexus models currently feature dynamic radar cruise control as a standard or optional feature:

  • Lexus ES - Available on all trim levels of the Lexus ES sedan.

  • Lexus IS - Offered as an option on the Lexus IS sports sedan.

  • Lexus NX - Included as standard equipment on the Lexus NX luxury crossover SUV.

  • Lexus RX - Dynamic radar cruise control is standard on the Lexus RX midsize luxury SUV.

  • Lexus LX - The full-size Lexus LX SUV comes equipped with dynamic radar cruise control.

  • Lexus LC - This high-performance Lexus coupe offers dynamic radar cruise control as an option.

Lexus has made a concerted effort to equip its entire lineup with advanced driver assistance technologies like dynamic radar cruise control, helping to enhance safety and convenience for its customers.

How Dynamic Radar Cruise Control Works

Lexus' dynamic radar cruise control system uses a front-facing radar sensor to detect the vehicle ahead and maintain a safe following distance. When the system is engaged, it will automatically adjust the Lexus vehicle's speed to match the speed of the car in front, slowing down or speeding up as needed to maintain the preset following distance. This helps reduce driver fatigue on long drives and provides an extra layer of safety by reducing the risk of rear-end collisions.

The driver can set the desired following distance and speed, and the system will handle the throttle and braking adjustments accordingly. Dynamic radar cruise control can operate at speeds from approximately 0 to 110 mph, making it useful in a variety of driving conditions.
