This follows from the ability of the system to calculate the optimum air/fuel mixture for starting as well as from the superior atomization that results from injection of the fuel as compared to fuel delivery from a carburetor.



Can you tune an EFI engine?


Using a real time programmer in place of the eeprom chip on the ECU board, a custom tune can be performed. A modified stock ECU allows for direct control over all functions of the factory ECU, so excellent performance, fuel economy, and overall running can be achieved.



What is EFI Chevy?


TBI (throttle body Injection) is EFI (electronic fuel injection). MPFI (Multi port injection) is EFI as well using injectors at each port. MPFI is little better efficiency wise but unless is sequential firing then not really worth it as most units are $2-3k easy.

An EFI conversion generally costs $950 and includes our fuel rails (#8, or #10) cut, tapped, and machined for your injectors, stanchions to mount the fuel rails, injector bungs and their proper placement, and the welding + labor to get it all on there.
