What engine does an Acura TSX have?

The Acura TSX is a popular luxury sedan known for its refined performance and sophisticated design. At the heart of the TSX is a highly capable engine that delivers an engaging driving experience. Let's take a closer look at the engine that powers this dynamic vehicle.

Engine Specifications

The Acura TSX is equipped with a 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engine. This engine produces 201 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, providing a compelling blend of power and efficiency.

Engine Technology

The TSX's engine features several advanced technologies that contribute to its impressive performance:

  • i-VTEC (intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control): This system optimizes valve timing and lift to enhance power, torque, and fuel efficiency.

  • Direct Fuel Injection: The direct fuel injection system delivers fuel directly into the cylinders, improving combustion and increasing power output.

  • Dual Overhead Camshafts (DOHC): The DOHC design allows for more precise control of the engine's valves, resulting in improved airflow and increased power.

These technologies work together to provide the Acura TSX with a responsive and efficient powertrain that delivers an engaging driving experience.

Transmission Options

The Acura TSX is available with two transmission choices:

  • 6-Speed Manual Transmission: For drivers who prefer a more hands-on driving experience, the TSX offers a smooth-shifting 6-speed manual transmission.

  • 5-Speed Automatic Transmission with Sequential SportShift: This transmission provides the convenience of an automatic with the option to manually control gear changes, allowing for a more dynamic driving experience.

Both transmission options are designed to complement the TSX's powerful engine and provide the driver with a satisfying and responsive driving experience.
