Subaru's Lafayette, Indiana Manufacturing Plant
Subaru's Lafayette, Indiana plant is the main production site for the Forester model, as well as several other Subaru vehicles sold in North America. The plant first opened in 1989 and has undergone several expansions and upgrades over the years to keep up with growing demand for Subaru's lineup of all-wheel-drive cars and SUVs.
The Lafayette facility utilizes a highly automated production process and employs over 6,000 workers. In addition to the Forester, the plant also manufactures the Ascent, Outback, and Legacy models for the U.S. and Canadian markets.
