Does Chevy make a hybrid vehicle?

Chevrolet does not currently offer a hybrid or plug-in-hybrid model in its U.S. lineup. The brand’s electrified options today are all-electric Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, while previously offered hybrids such as the Volt and Malibu Hybrid have been discontinued.

Current electrified options

Here are the electrified Chevrolets that are available today, focused on full electric propulsion rather than hybrid systems.

  • Chevrolet Bolt EV — a compact all-electric hatchback.

  • Chevrolet Bolt EUV — a larger all-electric crossover built on the Bolt platform.

These models run on electricity alone and do not use a gasoline engine to drive the wheels. They support multiple charging options and aim to offer practical ranges for daily driving.

Chevrolet's hybrid history

Chevrolet has experimented with several hybrid and plug-in-hybrid models in the past, but none are offered today. Notable entries include the following:

  • Chevrolet Volt — a plug-in hybrid that could run on electric power for short trips and switch to gasoline for longer range; produced 2010–2019.

  • Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid — a midsize sedan combining a gasoline engine with an electric motor; offered in the late 2010s and early 2020s before being discontinued.

  • Chevrolet Equinox Hybrid — a compact SUV option in various generations, later discontinued as production evolved.

  • Chevrolet Tahoe/Yukon Hybrids — two-mode hybrids for large SUVs that were phased out as the lineup transitioned.

Today these models are no longer in production. For buyers seeking electrified powertrains, Chevrolet’s focus has shifted to all-electric options rather than hybrids.

What this means for buyers

If a buyer specifically wants a hybrid or plug-in hybrid from Chevrolet, there are currently none in the U.S. lineup. For those open to electrification, the Bolt family provides all-electric alternatives with growing charging infrastructure and model-year updates.

Summary

In brief, Chevrolet does not currently manufacture a hybrid vehicle. Its present electrified offerings are all-electric Bolt EV and Bolt EUV. The brand has a history of hybrid and plug-in-hybrid models, but those have been discontinued, making the Bolt lineup Chevrolet’s primary path to electrified driving today. For future opportunities, keep an eye on GM’s broader electrification strategy, which may introduce new electric or other low-emission options in the coming years.
