Does Toyota sell a diesel Tacoma?

No, Toyota does not currently offer a diesel-powered version of the Tacoma pickup truck. The Tacoma is available exclusively with gasoline engines in the United States and Canadian markets.


Tacoma Powertrain Options


The Toyota Tacoma is available with two gasoline engine choices:


  • 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine producing 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque

  • 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque


These engines can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. The Tacoma does not offer a diesel engine option in North America.


Diesel Tacoma Availability in Other Markets


While the Tacoma is not available with a diesel engine in the United States and Canada, Toyota does offer diesel-powered versions of the Tacoma in some international markets. For example, the Tacoma is sold with a 2.4-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine in certain Latin American countries.p>
